# SEO Reporting

SEO reporting that answers one question: is search bringing you work? We set the data up properly, then give you a plain read of what changed, what we think caused it, and what happens next.

## What the work involves

From getting the data right through to sitting down and reading it with you.

### Tracking Setup and Verification

Search Console, Analytics and Google Business Profile set up in your name, then tested against real submissions so we know the figures reflect what happened.

### Rankings and Search Demand

Tracking for the terms we agree matter, checked from your area, and read alongside how demand for those terms is moving so a quiet month is not mistaken for a drop.

### Page and Enquiry Reporting

Which pages bring people in, which ones they leave from, and what came out the other end: forms sent, numbers tapped, bookings started.

### Local and Map Visibility

How your Google Business Profile is performing next to the website, including the searches that surface the map pack rather than the usual blue links.

## What a report contains

Most SEO reports are a screenshot from a rankings tool and a chart with a line going up. That tells you almost nothing you can act on. Ours starts from the questions an owner asks: is anyone finding us, what were they searching for, which pages are doing the work, and did anybody get in touch.

So a report covers visibility, traffic, behaviour and enquiries. Visibility is which search terms your site appears for and roughly where those appearances sit. Traffic is which pages people land on and how they got there. Behaviour is what happens after they land, including the pages they leave from. Enquiries are forms submitted, phone numbers tapped, bookings started. Each section is a short read with the working shown underneath, so you can check any of it yourself.

## Where the data comes from

Everything is pulled from sources you own. Google Search Console for impressions, clicks and query data. Analytics for on-site behaviour. Google Business Profile for map and local panel activity. A rank tracker for the terms we have agreed matter, checked from your area rather than from wherever the tool happens to sit.

We set those accounts up in your name, not ours, and we verify they are recording what we think they are recording before the first report goes out. That step catches the faults that quietly ruin reporting: a tracking tag firing more than once, a form thank-you page that never registers a conversion, a Search Console property pointed at the wrong domain variant, referral traffic from your own booking system counted as new demand. Reporting built on a broken feed is worse than no reporting, because it looks authoritative.

We build sites on our own platform rather than assembling plugins, so on those sites the enquiry side is wired in instead of bolted on. Form submissions are recorded server-side, which means an ad blocker or a declined cookie banner does not quietly delete them from your totals.

## How this is priced

For sites we build and host, monthly reporting is part of the monthly fee rather than a separate bill. It is built on the data your own accounts hold and comes with the local SEO work in the monthly fee for the sites we build and host. [How pricing works](/pricing).

## Reading it with you

A report nobody understands is an invoice with charts on it. We write the summary in plain English, name what changed, and say what we think caused it. Where we do not know, we say so, and say what we would need to check to find out.

> The chart is the easy part. The sentence underneath it is the work.

Every report ends with what we plan to do next and why. If a page slipped, you see the page. If a search term moved, you see the term, and whether overall demand for that term moved as well, because those are two different problems with two different answers.

## What we leave out

No metrics picked because they happen to be going up. No traffic totals padded with branded searches from people who already knew your name. No invented SEO score from a tool that has never seen your business. No claim about cause that we cannot support from the data in front of us.

If something is not working, the report says so, and says what we are changing. That is the part that makes the rest of it worth reading.

## Common questions

What is in the report?

A short written summary in plain English, then the detail behind it: search visibility, the terms you appear for, the pages people land on, and the enquiries that came through. Every figure names its source, so you can open the same account and check it. It ends with what we plan to do next and why.

Do I own the data and the accounts?

Yes. Search Console, Analytics and your Google Business Profile are set up under your own Google account, and we work in them with access you grant. If you ever stop working with us, the history stays with you rather than disappearing into an agency dashboard. That is the whole point of setting it up this way.

How often do reports arrive?

Monthly, as standard. It is part of the monthly fee for sites we look after, and if you want a number between reports, ask and we will pull it, so nothing is being held back until reporting day. If something significant changes, we tell you when we see it rather than saving it up.

Can you report on a site you did not build?

Yes. The main data sources sit outside the website, so the reporting works whatever your site is built on. The one difference is enquiry tracking: on our own platform form submissions are recorded server-side, and elsewhere we work with whatever the site and its forms can be made to record reliably.

Will the report tell me if SEO is not working?

That is what it is for. If visibility is flat, or traffic is arriving and nobody is getting in touch, the report says so and says what we are changing. A report that only ever shows good news is not a report, it is marketing aimed at you.
