Google Business Profile Management
Your Google Business Profile is what appears when someone searches your name, and it is the easiest thing to set up once and never look at again. We fill it in properly and keep it looked after.
What's included
The job splits into a few parts, and none of them are one-offs.
Setup, verification and clean-up
Claiming or recovering the listing, taking it through Google's verification, merging duplicates and fixing the name, address, service area and hours so they match the business.
Categories and services
Choosing the primary and secondary categories deliberately, then writing out the services list with your own descriptions rather than leaving Google's defaults in place.
Photos and posts
Uploading and organising photographs, retiring the tired ones, and publishing posts so there is something current on the listing when people look at it.
Reviews and questions
Replies drafted for you to approve, including the difficult ones, and answers written into the Q&A section before someone else fills it in for you.
What the profile does
Your Google Business Profile is the panel that appears when someone searches your name, and the listing behind the map results. It carries your opening hours, your categories, your photos, your reviews, and the buttons people press to call you or book. Someone can read all of that and get in touch without ever opening your website.
It is also easy to leave half finished. A profile set up once and never touched drifts out of date. Hours go stale over bank holidays, the services list stops matching what you sell, and questions from the public sit unanswered under someone else's guess.
What the work consists of
We go through the profile field by field first. Business name, primary category, secondary categories, address and service area, regular hours and special hours, attributes, the services and products lists, the description, and the booking and call links. Anything empty gets filled in. Anything wrong gets corrected.
Then there is the part that needs looking after rather than setting once:
- categories reviewed against what you want to be found for, not what was picked when the listing was created
- services written out properly, with your own descriptions instead of Google's defaults
- photos uploaded, named sensibly and kept current, with tired ones cleared out
- posts published so there is something recent on the listing
- review replies drafted for you to approve, including the awkward ones
- questions in the Q&A section answered by you rather than by strangers
- suspensions, duplicate listings and edits Google applies on its own, dealt with when they appear
A profile does not stay correct on its own. Google takes edits suggested by the public, and applies some changes itself.
How this is priced
For sites we build and host, looking after your Google Business Profile is part of the local SEO work in the monthly fee. Looking after the profile is part of the local SEO work in the monthly fee for the sites we build and host. How pricing works.

How it fits with your website
The profile and the website should agree with each other. Name, address, phone and opening hours the same on both. The structured data on your pages describing the same business the profile describes, with the same categories and the same service names. Links from the profile pointing at the page that answers the question someone asked, rather than at the homepage every time.
Where we built the site, that is one job rather than two: we build on our own platform instead of assembling plugins, so those details come from the same place. Where the site is somewhere else, we check it against the profile and tell you what needs changing.
Who it suits
Businesses whose customers are local and decide from a phone. If people find you by searching what you do and where you are, rather than by searching your name, the profile is doing the work of a shop window: hours, photographs, reviews, and a button to call or book.
What we do not do is promise positions. Nobody can honestly sell you a spot in the map results. What we can do is make sure the profile is complete, accurate, consistent with your website, and looked after by someone who checks it instead of leaving it to run itself.
