East and West Sussex

Web design in Sussex

We are a web design and SEO studio based in Brighton, working across East and West Sussex. We design and build the site, then structure it around the towns and services you sell into.

  • A separate page for each town you serve, written about that town rather than copied with the name swapped.
  • Close enough to meet: Brighton, Hove, Lewes, Worthing, Eastbourne, Chichester and the towns between them.
  • Speed, markup and redirects are ours to change rather than a plugin's

How the work is put together

One county, a lot of separate searches

Sussex is not one market. Somebody in Hastings and somebody in Chichester are running different searches, and a single county page cannot answer both well. The structure below is what we build instead.

A page per town, not a template

Each town you sell into gets its own page: what you cover there, where you work from, and the wording people in that town use. Nothing is a find and replace of the page before it.

Structure that matches the search

Service pages for what you do, town pages for where you do it, and a county page above both. Each one targets a search someone is really typing, and links to the pages that answer the next question.

Our own platform underneath

Frively builds on its own platform. Page speed, structured data, canonical tags, sitemaps and redirects are part of the platform, so a change is a change we make rather than a plugin we wait on.

What we do

Services for Sussex businesses

Each service is written up as its own page and links through to the towns it is offered in.

  • Stylized 3D render of a centered AI chat interface panel with a highlighted green cited result bar, a purple-accent highlight, a small citation marker, and a site-structure icon outside the panel connected by a thin line, on a transparent cutout.

    AI Search Visibility

Making your site legible to AI assistants, so the facts they repeat about your business come from you.

  • Three overlapping stylized browser windows floating above a black-and-green city skyline with a map pin

    Google Business Profile Management

We set up, correct and look after your Google Business Profile so the listing people see matches the business you run.

  • Centered green location pin above a minimal map with white rounded cards fanned around it, some with purple accents, in a soft pastel 3D style.

    Local SEO

The work that gets you found in map results and local searches: your Google Business Profile, pages for the areas you cover, and the technical detail behind both.

  • Four white rounded icon cards in a 2x2 grid connected by thin green lines converging to a central purple-accent node on a pale green background.

    Managed Website Hosting

We run the hosting, domain, certificates and platform updates for the sites we build, so nobody has to log into a control panel.

  • Stylized 3D white audit report card with green header, purple-accent gauge, small bar chart, ranked rows, and a green magnifying glass icon, isolated on transparent background.

    SEO Audit

A hands-on audit of your site's crawling, indexing, content and search demand, written up as an ordered list of fixes.

  • Person typing on laptop showing analytics dashboard with charts; phone and glasses on white desk

    SEO Reporting

Plain-English SEO reporting built on data you own, covering search visibility, traffic and enquiries in one place.

The process

How a Sussex project runs

Three stages. The first one decides the other two, so it is the one we spend time on.

Map the county

We list the services you sell and the towns you cover, then decide which combinations earn a page of their own and which would only repeat one that exists. That map becomes the site structure, and you sign it off before anything is designed.

Design and build

One design system across the site, built on our own platform. Laid out for a phone first, with the enquiry route on every page and the same components reused so a new town page is a page, not a project.

Write, redirect, launch

Each page written for its own town or service, not padded out from a template. Old URLs mapped and redirected, then launch. After that the pages get revisited against the searches they start picking up.

Questions

Working with a Sussex studio

The things people ask before starting. If yours is not here, ask it directly.

Do you work across the whole of Sussex?
Yes. Frively is based in Brighton and takes work across East and West Sussex, from Rye and Hastings through to Chichester. Most of a project runs over email and calls, and we can meet in person when it helps: at the start, when the structure is being agreed, and before launch.
Should I have one page for Sussex, or a page for each town?
Both, doing different jobs. A county page answers the broad search and links out to everything below it. Each town you sell into gets its own page, written about that town: the areas covered, what gets asked for there, and where you work from. Copying one page and swapping the town name leaves a search engine nothing to tell them apart.
What is involved in a build?
A structure pass first. We list the services you sell and the towns you cover, then decide which combinations earn a page and which would only repeat one that already exists. After that comes design and build on our own platform, then the writing, page by page. The structure is agreed before anything is designed, because it decides what has to be written.
What happens to my existing site when the new one goes live?
Every URL on the old site is mapped to a destination on the new one before launch, and permanent redirects are set for the ones that move. Pages being dropped get a decision rather than a dead link. Old links, bookmarks and directory listings keep working.

Still deciding?

Send the question. A short, straight answer is more use to you than a sales call, and you will get one either way.
